The dunking incident didn't stop there. Wilkins also participated in the Dunk Contest at the 1989 All-Star Game, where he performed some of the wildest dunks ever seen. He won the contest that year and went on to become the first African American athlete to win the event.
Wilkins' legacy as a dunking champion continues to this day. He has been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, and he remains a beloved figure in basketball circles. His impact on the sport will be felt for generations to come.
